The Blue Skies Foundation is a cooperation between Blue Skies and its customers the founding members of which are Waitrose and Albert Heijn. The Foundation is a way for these companies to support the communities in which we trade, who have contributed towards delivering high quality products for their customers.The mission statement of the Foundation is to empower and uplift the Blue Skies staff, the small scale farmers who grow the fruit and the communities in which they live by the funding of social, cultural, educational and health projects chosen by the workforce and community committees.The purpose and vision of the Foundation is to establish a framework for cooperation meant to facilitate the most effective way of implementing development projects identified by the people and communities where Blue Skies and its farmers are growing and preparing fruit.
It is envisaged that this cooperation model will evolve in to a broad based structure able to manage both small and large-scale projects alike touching the lives of all those people within the Blue Skies community.
